Turn the Key: Unlocking Memories for Storytelling
Memoir workshop with editor Ali Shaw
When unlocked, our memories provide rich fodder for our writing. Younger versions of ourselves, our family members, our friends, our foes—all are characters waiting for their stories to be told on the page. In this ninety-minute workshop, memoir editor Ali Shaw will guide you through meditations and prompts to let loose the stories that your memories want to tell. Bring your favorite writing tools to capture the stories that come up in the timed writing sessions, and you’ll leave with the seeds for your next personal essay or memoir. This workshop is open to writers of all levels.
Ali Shaw has been editing memoirs for Indigo: Editing, Design, and More for over ten years.
